#ParentsinSportWeek2020

5th October to the 11th October 2020 is Parents in Sports Week, this is a national campaign ran by the NSPCC. #parentsinsportsweek2020

As part of this campaign, the FA is asking every parent/carer with a child involved in football to take a few minutes to watch their parent/carer video below called ‘Let’s talk about keeping children safe in football’. It outlines what parents should expect from their club and how you can play your part in safeguarding your child.

More information can be found on the FA Website: FA Guidance for Parents and Carers

Coalpit Heath Football Club take safeguarding very seriously and ensure we follow FA guidelines. If you have any concerns you should contact the club’s dedicated Club Welfare Officer.

Club Vacancies

Coalpit Heath Football Club has a number of critical committee posts that we need to fill. All committee members receive free club membership and fees.

The club has flourished in recent years with a strong Soccertots setup and teams in age groups from u7s through to u13s and two teams at u16s. The club currently has 150 children registered to play across all age groups. To enable the club to continue to grow and operate day to day we are in urgent need of new volunteers to join the committee.

Below are the current vacancies on the committee:

  • Hanham Minor League Fixtures and Liaison Officer – the club’s contact person with the league. Cascading results, fixture and registration information to the league.
  • Facilities Officer – acting as the conduit between the various facilities the club hires to ensure we provide the club with the best options to keep games and training on.
  • School Liaison Officer – to act as a point of contact for all schools in the area and which our children attend, to ensure we maximise feedback and attract new players to join.
  • Minutes Officer – to support with the administration and minute taking for all committee and coaches meetings. Arranging meeting dates and supporting with registration and sponsorship requests as and when they arise.
  • Fundraising Officer – to establish a way in which the club can raise vital funds to reinvest in to the teams. This could involve running the cafe to arranging and hosting social events.

Latest Covid-19 Update – Resumption of Training

This is the latest Covid-19 update from the club. Over the last couple of weeks, Coalpit Heath Football Club have been reviewing the recent FA guidelines regarding the resumption of football training. The club have been keen to support this and have now produced guidelines to enable the resumption of football training within the club. The guidance can be found on this website, www.coalpitheathfc.co.uk/covid-19/, this page will continue to be updated as the situation develops and updated guidance from the FA is provided.

We are currently in the off season, so traditionally most teams would not be training during this time. However, we have given all age groups the option of recommencing training sessions if the coaches personal circumstances allow, parents provide consent and the guidelines are adhered to.

If your child’s age group will be recommencing training, you will receive an email from the coach which will include a consent form and a copy of the risk assessment that the club have completed. The email will also contain details of how the training sessions will run. It’s important that parents support coaches during this period as there will be more work involved and more responsibility on all coaches to ensure everyone is kept safe.
